Mt. Silverheels: North Chutes

The north face of Silverheels has several couloirs that offer good skiing. I did it on June 30, 1999, with Katie Larson, Phil Williams, and JT Kress, and we approached from Hoosier Pass.

Around 2005 I met Sam Silverstein, an accomplished climber and skier (on the team that first climbed Vinson in Antarctica, and a veteran of many serious explorations and first ascents in the Columbia mountains of British Columbia (e.g., first on Moby Dick, which he climbed and named). Sam reported that he skied the north side of Silverheels in the 1950s!
