North Traverse Peak: Northwest Face and West Face
On June 8, 2007, Dave Bourassa, Mark Caveliero, and I went up the Bighorn Creek Trail and skinned to the end of the valley. We decided at that point to climb North Traverse Peak (ice axes needed). That we did, but there was no continuous ski line from the summit. Mark and I went down a steep face on the northwest side while Dave found a gully that went down the west side, though he had to scramble through some rocks near the end. Possibly these lines, and others in the area, would be better earlier in the season. But really, the end of this valley is not a great ski destination.
