Kluane poppy; Papaver radicatum subsp. kluanensis

These beautiful flowers are quite rare. In Summit County they can be found in Breckenridge on Hoosier Ridge east and Black Powder Pass. They also occur in the central mountains and I have seen them on the ridges north and east of North Mt. Massive, and below the summit of Mt. Yale on the standard trail.
