Dwarf columbine; Aquilegia saximontana

July 20, 2024, near Loveland Pass, west side. These are very small and considered uncommon. The hooked spurs identify the species. They grow only in north and central Colorado and are considered rare.

June 24, 2026: I stumbled across a nice patch of these above Black Powder Pass. The last four pictures here are from that day. The diameter of the open flower is about 3/4 inch.
