Whiplash saxifrage; Saxifraga flagellaris

This is perhaps my favorite alpine flower. The plant sends out whips from its base. They can be found on Hoosier Ridge East, at Black Powder Pass, on the slopes between the Blue Sky Road and Mt. Rosalie. There are many alpine yellow flowers, so it can be tricky to pick these out. The shape, and the slightly softer yellow are the keys for me.
